Customer Reviews: Philips HR2737/70 Citrus Press, 25 Watt, 0.4 Litre
This product 'does what it says on the tin'. I wanted something to give me fresh orange juice every morning, no more, no less. This is just what the citrus press does, just what I wanted.

I first used a Philips juicer like this on holiday in our rented house in Sicily. What an unfussy, hardy and useful little machine! I just had to get one for myself to use at home as I have a variety of juicers, none of which completely fit the bill. This one sits solidly on its base, it is very easy to clean, it has fluid measure marked on the side so that you don't have to guess how much juice you've squeezed and it makes an amazingly clean job of the fruit, squeezing everything out easily and without you having to exert too much pressure; the bi-directional motor ensures this. It is well designed, so lovely to use, doesn't take up much space on the kitchen work surface, has a flex-storage groove around the base to wind the flex into and is inexpensive to buy. Brilliant! What more could you possibly want from a juicer?
This citrus press has all the features I was looking for, is moderately priced, easy to clean, looks indestructable and is very suitable for aged, arthritic hands! It also gives you the bits in your juice. I find it best to remove the bulk of the residue with a plastic 'medicine' spoon and then rinse the reamer part under the hot tap. After emptying the juice, the jug is easily cleaned by rinsing as well; occasionally I use washing up liquid but this is not usually necessary. It is a very well designed appliance - good engineering!

When my old glass juicer developed a crack I bought this on the strength of the reviews here and in the hope that it would protect my wrists from a recurrence of tendonitis.
When this arrived I was a bit dismayed by it's size as I like to keep utensils on the counter ready for use. It has, however, earned its place beside the toaster and has saved wear and tear on the wrists which had been much aggravated by the tortional action required by a manual juicer.
Highly recommended.
Based on the very good reviews I bought the Philips citrus press. It works really well. I've tried grapefruits, oranges, lemons and limes and it extracted 100% of the juice very easily. I was really impressed that the extractor bit didn't clog up. Very easy to clean, compact, sturdy, looks good. Has moved in next to espresso and filter coffee machines as it's going to be used too much to find a home in a cupboard.
