OMG, if you're umming and ahhing as to whether or not to purchase this soup maker, hesitate no more!!!! You will not possibly regret it! It really is superb! So so easy to use! It literally is just a matter of chopping and throwing in all your veggies, then leaving!!!! It does it all for you! As for the washing up, there really is hardly any! Just a quick swill and its done!
The taste of the soup is to die for, and it blends it to perfection, soooo smooth! Of course you have the chunkier option if desired.
My one hesitation when buying was whether it'd make enough soup, as 1.6litre capacity sounded less than I was used to. I probably would say it makes more like 4 bowls than 6, but its still ample, and really is the best you'll taste! Buy it!

I had one of these soup makers it is a very good piece of equipment the soup is exellent unfortunately it developed a fault and we are getting a replacement and there has been no problem getting this replaced. Bill in Cardiff.

Some comments have been made about food not cooking fully. I cannot agree with this - I have made Chicken soup, Vegetable soup and Tomato soup. For newcomers to the soup maker may I suggest the following recipe - it will make enough soup for 4 huge servings or 5 / 6 average servings and is delicious.
LOVELY TOMATO SOUP
Ingredients
2 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion
1 large potato (approx 3" x 2" x 1½")
1 medium carrot (approx 4" x 1" )
½ tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp tomato purée
400g can chopped tomatoes
2 chicken stock cubes
1 pint boiling water to dissolve the stock cubes in glass jug
Dice the onion and lightly fry
Dice the carrot and potato
Add all the ingredients into the soup maker, add more water to make up to mark on soup maker
switch on and leave the soup maker to do it's work. Delicious!
Serve with hot garlic bread.

I bought this product about a month ago and since have been using it regularly. As with many kitchen appliances, once the novelty wears off, it sits at the corner and ready to be given away. But not with this one. This has exceeded my expectation and the soup is done in 21 mins, beautifully cooked and taste fantastic. what a better way to increase the daily intake of vegetables. The only point needs mentioning is at this price level, do not expect the soup maker to come with many functions. Although the instruction says put everything in the pot, but you have to cook vegetables first in the frying pan to achieve the best result. This is not that difficult to do as all you have to do is to put oil and all the vegetables and cook for about 15 mins before using the soup maker. Be realistic, if you want the machine to do everything, then prepare to pay a few hundreds for the appliance. As I said the important thing is the quality of soup and this product is fantastic.

Just got this soup maker at good price and have made 2 batches of soup - put in some stock, add your veggies, top up the liquid to minimum level, season, select smooth or chunky and off it goes. Haven't tried chunky yet but very happy with both the smooth soups - will help with work lunches and great for using up leftovers.

Fabulous!!! What else is there to say. I have only made 4 recipes in it so far (smooth and chunky options) but it worked perfectly. The soup is a nice thick consistency which suits me. It is so amazing that the whole process is completed in such a short time (21 minutes for smooth/28 minutes for chunky). I love soup and it is so good to know that you are only using ingredients that you want in your soup ~ no additives!!!. So easy to clean to, just wash the "inside" of the jug and lid very carefully under a running tap with a soapy sponge, JUST BE CAREFUL TO KEEP WATER AWAY FROM THE OUTSIDE OF THE JUG AND THE LID TO AVOID THE ELECTRICAL POINTS. You also have to be sure that you have added sufficient stock to your recipe, THE CONTENTS LEVEL MUST BE "BETWEEN MINIMUM & MAXIMUM".
