Customer Reviews: Matstone 6 in 1 Juicer in Burgundy
We're big lovers of fresh juices and we've used a centrifugal pulper/juicer for years now but have been rather disappointed with the results - very frothy, aerated juice that quickly oxidises and a lot of juice left in the "waste" pulp. Having read how good masticating juicers are supposed to be we bought one of these Matstone ones and have to say that all that I've read is true. The juicer works by slowly squeezing the juice from the fruit/vegetables as it travels along the extraction tube. The juice that comes out is largely pulp-free (no need for secondary filtering) and totally froth-free, and the waste pulp is almost dry. The amount of juice this thing extracts is amazing, much more than our old centrifugal juicer used to get from the same amount of fruit. It's so good you feel it could get blood from a stone!
It can also act as a mincer & pasta maker, but we haven't tried those functions yet.

This is a really great juicer - aside fom the fact it easily juices fruit, vegetables, leafy vegetables, salad stuff etc, what should be of real interest, is how incredibly easy it is to clean. I have many friends with juicers stuck in their cupboards, the novelty having worn off due to the difficulty in cleaning the product after each use. I myself have had experience of a complex and expensive crush and grind juicer that had so many parts, it was a real bind to wash. This however, comes apart with great ease, requires no more than a rinse under the tap for the few simple parts it has, but the actual grater is itself, pretty easy to clean, with the little toothbrush implement they provide.
From someone who knows, trust me - the easines of the cleaning, should play a major part in choosing this product.
Incidentally, it is also relatively compact, pretty good looking and just a pleasure to juice with.

my son persuaded me to buy this machine and I was reluctant as we had a centrifugal juicer - (currently broken) and this is pricey - but I gave in and I have to say it exceeds all my expectations and was worth every penny. all the claims it makes for being quiet, easy to clean and assemble are completely correct - it cleans in about a minute, and sits purring away juicing absolutely anything. you have to chop the fruit and veg up quite small as the feed pipe is narrow, but that is not a problem. I have been growing wheat grass and it takes that easily - very healthy. BUT best of all - I had a small problem with one of the parts - I contacted the supplier via amazon - I got a very courteous email and the very next day I got TWO replacement parts - fantastic after sales. I can't recommend this juicer highly enough. We haven't used the other functions yet, but I make juice two or three times a day (lots of curious visitors) and have made fruit mush to add to yogurt. so now we are saving money on buying made juice and fruit yogurt too, 20 out of 10

Friends suggested that the prime requirements for a juicer would be ease of dismantling and putting back together and that satisfaction would come from the dryness of the pulp. The reviews were what convinced me (thanks folks!) that this juicer was the one I should buy. Yes, £170 is a hefty price, but with a cancer patient in the family the aim was to improve the immune system and this is a good way to do it. Mine too! (Half a stone gone in five weeks) The review from Leon seems to be talking about a completely different machine. The base machine feels well engineered. The parts come together easily and I could do it with my eyes closed, they are so responsive and click firmly into place. After rinsing I return the pieces to a plastic bowl lined with a cloth and put them in the boiler cupboard, which in my kitchen is handy for drying the pieces off. Anything to save labour. The juicing itself is a joy. Cut stuff up into long slices and it cheerfully munches the lot. Kiwi juice is almost alcoholic in it's sharpness even without extra lemon juice and a wonderful substitute for the G and T. Our greengrocer sells me a tray of apricots at two thirds the price of apricots per kg and bags of carrots for ponies weighing about 10kgs for £2. (The carrots don't know they are destined for the juicer instead of the horse and mis-shapen carrots aren't a problem.) Carrot juice is versatile and the carrot cake made with the pulp rehydrated with cold tea or lemon juice and water is excellent. Soup is amazing made with mixed pulp and my compost heap is going to be a thing of delight this year. In fact I wondered if I might try planting seeds straight into the mixed pulp after giving it a good mix? Beware only of using too much cabbage in a mixture: I was warned, but the urge to clean out the fridge vegetable box was too great. It is quite vile! Cabbage, fennel tops, cauliflower, dark green leek tops, broccoli, you get the picture, but the greatest of these is cabbage. Wonderfully good for you but in small quantities. Lesson learned. No matter, adding a tin of tomatoes an apple and a stock cube has made a good soup....... You gather that I am very well pleased with this animal. It has a name already, 'Oscar' appears on the label somewhere. Seems to suit. In addition the A4 sized explanatory booklet is one of the clearest manuals I have come across. Well done the designers. The juicer was delivered in double-quick time too. My best purchase in 12 months.

I'm really, really pleased with my purchase of a Matstone juicer. I've been juicing on and off for years with different centrifugal juicers, which worked alright but were also disappointing - they're inefficient, wastful, and always seemed to produce juice that was mostly froth and turned brown really quickly. The Matstone juicer solves all those problems - the juice has very little froth, tastes and looks very fresh, and is more abundant than from the same amount of fruit put into my old centrifugal juicers. Depending on the fruit, the pulp can be so dry it's literally like sawdust! The machine itself is very sturdy, and looks great in my kitchen (I've had people comment on how nice the burgundy color is). Cleanup is a bit easier than with my old juicers, but there's no way around it - you should really clean your juicer right after using it, and if you make juice for breakfast like me the clean-up at that hour is a hassle no matter what. There's also a bit more prep time involved with the Matstone, as you need to cut the fruit into smaller pieces (Tip: cut the fruit or veg into small pieces with 'corners' so it gets pulped easier). But don't let these small negatives deter you - the quality and quantity of the juice the Matstone produces is well worth the prep time, clean-up time, and cash investment.

Gorgeous machine!!! I'm delighted, & its true that's easy to clean. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a better diet. Carrot, beetroot, celery + any other raw vegetable. You need to chop them in rather small pieces ( a ceremony like any other ) and juice the pulp that comes out 2 more times, add 2 raw egg yolks and you've got Morning Dynamite. I use it 3 times a day, its sturdy, quiet & elegant, an essential tool if you are wanting a healthier diet and a fantastic juicer if you want just a simple tasty fresh invigorating juice.

I bought this a few months back after deciding I wanted a healthier lifestyle, and to essentially eat more fruit and veg.
I half expected to use it madly for a while and then slow and eventually stop using it, but i use it ALL THE TIME! It's brilliant. Juicing stuff with this is so satisfying, and the juice is lovely. I usually bulk juice stuff, and keep it in the freezer and fridge as it tastes even better when it's ice cold.
Takes a couple of mins to wash the whole thing and assembles in seconds.
Buy this!
I am so happy I bought this juicer. It is fast, quiet and, most importantly for me, super easy to clean! And, as I think another review mentioned, it produces a much less frothy juice than most other juicers. The feeding tube is quite narrow which can sometimes be a pain and the main body of the machine is quite heavy to lift around if you don't have the space to leave it out all the time. However, those facts wouldn't deter me from recommending this juicer to anybody who is looking for excellent quality at quite a reasonable price.
this is the best juicer ever. its quick, quiet and super easy to clean. it produces the best quality juice full of nutrients and also looks great in the kitchen.i never usually leave reviews but this product is sooo good and im so happy with my purchase i have to recommend it. well worth the money!
